Pierced by hand before firing, so the light does two things at once: a warm general glow through the ceramic, and a scatter of small bright points across the wall around it. At night the pattern becomes the fixture. Switch it off and it is simply a well-made ceramic globe.
Takes a 100W A-15 — the smaller envelope keeps the bulb clear of the perforations so the pattern stays crisp.
